Lorna MacFarlane

Lorna MacFarlane is an Associate in Dentons' UK Disputes practice in Edinburgh, and is dual qualified in Scotland (2020) and England and Wales (2024). She focuses on general commercial dispute resolution, with particular expertise in commercial contract disputes, financial services, cryptocurrency, technology, IP, product liability, cybersecurity, and corporate matters.

She has appeared in Sheriff Courts across Scotland and regularly assists with cases in the Court of Session. Her experience also includes property litigation, including recovery of rent arrears, dilapidations settlement agreements, and irritancy proceedings. During her traineeship, she spent time with Dentons Helix working with Marks & Spencer Plc and retains an interest in the food, drink and retail sectors.

Lorna holds an LL.B (Hons) in Scots Law, an LL.M by Research, a PhD in Law, and a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Edinburgh. She also studied on the Erasmus Programme at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (2011).

She is a member of the Law Society of Scotland Obligations Sub-Committee and the Council of the Stair Society, and volunteers with the Amicus Project, Prisoners' Advice Service, Kids in Need of Defence, and the Free Legal Advice Clinic at the University of Edinburgh.
