Aileen Banks

Aileen Banks is a Senior Associate in the Projects practice in Dentons' Edinburgh office, specializing in contentious construction and dispute resolution. She is dual qualified in Scotland and England.

She acts for a wide range of clients including contractors, subcontractors and employers, with experience in both Court of Session and Sheriff Court matters. She also has experience in alternative dispute resolution methods including mediation, adjudication and arbitration (in the UK and the Middle East). She deals with a variety of disputes including those relating to professional negligence, defective design and workmanship, delay and disruption claims, loss and expense, final accounts and the interpretation of contractual terms.

Aileen holds an LL.B (Hons) in Law (2015) and a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice with Distinction (2016) from the University of Edinburgh, and completed the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme at Kaplan Law School (2021).

She is a member of the Society of Construction Law and sits on the committee of Young Professionals in Construction (YPIC) in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
