Philip Knight

Philip Knight is a Partner in Dentons' Edinburgh office and a member of the firm's UK Disputes practice, representing clients in the Court of Session and Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland. He specialises in commercial, real estate, banking and insolvency disputes, with significant experience in the retail, energy and financial services sectors.

He has acted on a wide range of high-profile matters, including advising the Insolvency Service on director disqualifications and public interest winding-up petitions; acting for a well-known retailer in respect of a CVA; obtaining an interim interdict arising from defamatory online posts in the leading Scottish defamation judgment; acting in an urgent recall of a provisional liquidator appointment for a chain of convenience stores; advising on the application for a scheme of arrangement under the Companies Act 2006; and acting in the largest joint Fatal Accident Inquiry in Scotland. He also advises on procurement challenges under the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.

Philip holds an LL.B and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Aberdeen (2006). He is an accredited mediator with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
