Sarah Alexander

Sarah Alexander is Counsel at Dentons in Edinburgh, practicing in the Construction & Engineering team, specializing in Dispute Resolution. She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in construction law and has been practicing for more than 18 years.

Sarah advises on dispute resolution in high‑value onshore and offshore construction and energy projects, including adjudications, arbitrations, and court actions. She has acted on numerous significant matters, including advising a major UK developer on contracts for remediation of life‑critical fire‑safety defects; representing RBG Limited in adjudication, court, and arbitration proceedings arising from a carbon fibre production line dispute, resulting in early reported decisions under the Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2010; acting for a client in the defence of a multi‑million‑pound claim on the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route; and advising on disputes arising from the M8/M73/M74 motorway improvements project. She also has extensive experience in PFI/PPP projects, energy sector disputes (including FPSO construction and decommissioning), and has been seconded to Total Global Procurement S.A.S. in Paris.

Sarah holds an LL.B (Hons) and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Aberdeen (2005, 2006). She is qualified as a Solicitor in Scotland (2007) and England and Wales (2016), and is also a Notary Public.

She has been consistently recognised in Chambers as a Star Associate in Construction (2025, 2026) and previously as an Associate to Watch (2021–2024).
