Lauren Kourie

Lauren Kourie is an Associate in the London Intellectual Property team, specialising in brand management. Her primary practice area is Trademark Law.

During her time at Bird & Bird, she has worked across a large number of detailed and complex intellectual property matters, both contentious and non-contentious, touching on trade marks, designs and copyright.

Her particular area of expertise is brand protection. She advises on all issues arising in the lifecycle of a brand, from the early stages of brand clearance and development, to multi-jurisdictional disputes and enforcement, to international brand strategy and expansion.

She works closely with clients to ensure their brand strategy is aligned with the commercial interests of the business. She assists and supports clients with their intellectual property portfolios across all sectors, but has a particular passion for the Retail & Consumer sector.

She is a contributor to the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys Journal and BrandWrites, Bird & Bird's international publication on legal and industry-related brand news.
