Alessandra Naia

Alessandra Naia is a Trademark Attorney in Bird & Bird's Intellectual Property Group in London. Her practice focuses on Trademark Law, specialising in European Union and Italian trademark law.

She is passionate about all aspects and stages of trademarks' life cycle, from brand creation to portfolio management and enforcement. Her focus is on strategic counselling and developing a brand protection architecture of trademark portfolios at both European Union and worldwide level.

She has gained significant and extensive experience in managing worldwide trademark portfolios, representing high-profile national and international clients in different industries, including luxury goods, fashion, wine and food, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications. Over the years, she has advised clients ranging in size from start-ups to small, medium and large-sized companies.

Her core expertise includes contentious and non-contentious trademark matters, brand selection and availability searches, trademark filing with EUIPO, UIBM, WIPO and national offices, prosecution, portfolio management, negotiation and drafting of out-of-court settlement and coexistence agreements, and enforcement of trademark rights. In particular, she has substantial experience with opposition procedures before the European Union and the Italian Trademark Office, having handled complex cases involving cross-proceedings between the same entities.

She has been an active member of ECTA, joining the annual conferences and being part of the anti-counterfeiting committee.
