Jane Bowen

Jane Bowen is Counsel in Dentons' London office and a member of the Employment and Pensions practice group, where she focuses on UK employment law. Her practice focuses on Employment Law.

Jane has experience advising on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment law issues. This includes defending various employment tribunal claims for unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing detriment, including those with multiple claimants. She is also experienced in pre-litigation negotiations and judicial mediation, successfully settling disputes before parties incur significant time and cost.

She has experience advising on non-contentious employment matters including drafting and reviewing contracts, service agreements, employee handbooks and policies, and implementing changes to these in some cases via dismissal and re-engagement of employees. She is experienced in guiding clients through redundancies and restructures, including those at executive level, and in providing employment support on transactional work and outsourcing agreements, advising on employment issues including the application of TUPE and the allocation of risk on a transfer.

Jane has significant experience in employee data protection, both delivering training and advising clients on their obligations regarding employee data and how to deal with employee data subject access requests. She has also carried out a number of workplace investigations, including in particularly sensitive circumstances where allegations were against executive directors and board members.

She holds a Legal Practice Course and a Graduate Diploma in Law from the College of Law, and a BA in Sociology from the University of Leeds. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
