Tracey Summerell

Tracey Summerell is a Managing Practice Development Lawyer in the UK Construction team at Dentons, specializing in Dispute Resolution. She focuses on construction law, litigation in the Technology and Construction Court, arbitration proceedings, and, as an accredited mediator, has a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution (ADR). She uses her commercial approach to the law to identify areas where the Construction team can add value to clients' business operations.

Tracey has a wide remit ranging from legal innovation, business planning, professional development, legal training and mentoring, to writing about construction law, dispute resolution and ADR. She creates and delivers training programs for Dentons and clients, mentors colleagues to support their development, and as a member of Dentons' UK wellbeing committee and a mindfulness ambassador, creates training programs to promote a mindful approach to working and overall wellbeing. She writes extensively, providing thought‑leadership on legal and procedural issues in the construction sector, writing a monthly ADR column and "state of play" legislation analysis for Construction Law, and has been recognized as a "readers' choice" top author in construction by JD Supra for the last three years.

She holds an LL.B (Hons) from Leeds University (1987) and completed her legal training at the Chester College of Law (1988). She is a CEDR accredited mediator (2000) and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 1992.
