Rebecca Owen-Howes

Rebecca Owen-Howes is a Counsel in the firm's Competition practice in London, advising on a wide range of UK and EU competition law issues.

She has more than 30 years of experience handling cases before the European Commission, UK and European courts, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), UK government departments and various UK sectoral regulators. Her practice covers merger control, foreign direct investment reviews under the National Security and Investment Act, cartel investigations, market investigations, abuse of dominance, commercial agreements, compliance training and state aid/subsidy control.

Rebecca holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Sheffield (1992), studied French Constitutional and Administrative Law at the Université de Droit, d'Économie et des Sciences d'Aix-Marseille (1992), and completed her Law Society Finals at the College of Law, Guildford (1993). She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 1995.

She is a member of the Law Society's Competition Section and has long been involved in the firm's diversity and inclusion initiatives. She is also co-author of the UK chapters of the "Getting the Deal Through" publications on Gas Regulation and Rail Transport.
