Laura Whyatt

Laura Whyatt is a Partner at Dentons in London, leading the UK competition litigation practice within the Competition and Foreign Investment group. She specialises in Competition Law, advising clients on high‑value, complex competition claims before the English courts, including collective actions and multi‑jurisdictional litigation.

Laura acts for both claimants and defendants in competition damages claims, with experience in abuse of dominance and FRAND disputes. She is currently defending multiple collective actions in the Competition Appeal Tribunal, including the high‑profile Stagecoach South Western Trains case, which reached the first major collective settlement under the UK collective actions regime. She is also defending Merck in a pharmaceutical "pay‑for‑delay" claim brought by the NHS. Laura advises on competition investigations, enforcement, litigation risk, and challenges to regulatory decisions across sectors including automotive, aviation, media, pharmaceuticals, retail, and technology. She previously practised in Brussels, representing clients before the European Commission and EU courts in cartel and abuse of dominance investigations.

Laura holds a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Cambridge (2010), a Postgraduate Diploma in Competition Law from King's College London (2016), and completed her GDL and LPC at the College of Law and Kaplan Law School. She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2014.

She joined Dentons in 2024, having previously practised at Willkie Farr & Gallagher, Quinn Emanuel, and Shearman & Sterling in Brussels.
