Claudia Thomas

Claudia Thomas is a Partner in the Projects practice at Dentons in London, specializing in Infrastructure Law. She advises on low carbon infrastructure projects in the energy and transport sectors, with a particular focus on complex regulatory arrangements and UK low carbon business models, often for Government and regulator clients involving first‑of‑a‑kind interventions or market reform projects.

Claudia brings more than a decade of experience as a government lawyer, advising the UK's energy department on the financing of nuclear and renewables projects, and other regulatory and legislative matters in the energy sector. She was also part of the UK's EU exit negotiations team, advising the Cabinet Office on trade and international law matters connected to EU exit. Prior to joining Government, she was an associate at a US law firm in London, specialising in international energy projects. She brings detailed understanding of government policy‑making, public law, and a wide range of energy sector transactional and regulatory matters.

She holds a B.A. (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University (2001), a Graduate Diploma in Law from City University (2002), an LL.M in EU & International Law from University College London (2004), and completed her Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School (2005). She qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2007.
