Claire Armstrong

Claire Armstrong is the Scotland Managing Partner and a Partner in the Firm's Asset Management practice, dividing her time between the Edinburgh and London offices. She advises on UK and global investment funds, corporate and commercial matters, including fund establishment and structuring, partnership law, listed funds, co-investments, M&A, capital raisings and group reorganisations.

She has extensive experience advising closed-ended listed funds and a wide range of alternative investment funds across all asset classes, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure and debt. Notable transactions include advising M&G Real Estate on a £340 million joint venture with British Land, advising Downing LLP on the design and launch of its first investment trust raising £70 million, and advising Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies on a £50 million restructuring of convertible loan stock. She also advises on direct investments, including into TransferWise, and regularly coordinates multidisciplinary teams on complex commercial projects.

Claire holds an LL.B and a Diploma in Legal Practice from Dundee University and is admitted as a Solicitor in Scotland and in England and Wales.
