Angela Cheng

Angela Cheng is an Associate in the firm's Energy Law and Projects practice group, based in the London office. Her focus is on the energy sector, particularly projects in the energy transition space, with experience in mergers and acquisitions, project development, and regulatory matters across a wide range of technologies including renewables, hydrogen, CCUS, LNG, and oil and gas projects.

Ms. Cheng has advised on numerous significant transactions, including advising Vitol on potential sales and acquisitions of power assets in the UK and Poland, UK government (Department of Energy Security and Net Zero) on Allocation Round 6 of Contracts for Difference, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago on its first two renewable projects, CEZ on master sale and purchase agreements for LNG, Britishvolt on securing funding for the UK's first EV battery gigafactory, and the Ministry of Finance of a foreign government on its energy rationalization program reviewing a portfolio of over 40 renewable energy projects. She also advised Marks and Spencer and John Lewis on rooftop solar projects and PPAs.

Angela holds an LLB (Hons) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2017) and completed the Legal Practice Course at The University of Law (2018). She is co-chair of Fusion, Dentons' Asian Professionals Network, and provides pro bono legal advice through PopLaw and the National Centre for Domestic Violence.
