Andrew Rink

Andrew Rink is a tax lawyer and Senior Associate in the Bird & Bird International Tax Group, focusing on Tax Advisory Law. He has experience in corporate, real estate, employment and finance taxation.

He advises on a range of corporate taxation matters with a particular emphasis on the taxation aspects of mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations and reconstructions, joint venture, private equity and real estate transactions. His practice also encompasses structuring and implementing tax efficient investments, reorganisations, and exits in compliance with the enterprise investment scheme (EIS) and venture capital trusts (VCT) regimes.

His real estate experience includes the tax aspects of structuring real estate and corporate transactions, including pre-sale reorganisations and business transfers involving hotel businesses, as well as complex SDLT matters, the VAT consequences of real estate transactions, the capital goods scheme, transfer of capital allowances and the construction industry scheme.

He advises clients structuring investments and acquisitions across jurisdictions, with a focus on the Hotels, Hospitality & Leisure, Retail & Consumer, and Media, Entertainment & Sport sectors. He assists clients with employment tax issues including termination payments, internationally mobile employees and off-payroll working. He has contributed to taxation articles published by LexisPSL, PracticalLaw and the International Bar Association.
