Simon Elliott

Simon Elliott is a Partner and Head of Dentons' Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice for the UK, Ireland and Middle East, specialising in Data Protection Law. He has more than 15 years' experience advising clients on the full range of data privacy and information governance matters.

Simon leads large-scale projects for clients in designing and implementing protocols and procedures for complying with GDPR, designing global data protection compliance programmes, and handling global data transfer solutions, data processor engagement, marketing and CRM strategies, and data incident responses. He regularly assists major global multinationals and UK businesses with regulatory investigations and enforcement actions, major data breaches, and media enquiries. He has also led multiple Binding Corporate Rules applications and advises on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous vehicles, blockchain and adtech.

Simon holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Manchester (2003) and completed the LPC at Manchester Metropolitan University (2004).

He is ranked as a Leading Individual by Chambers (2025) and by The Legal 500 (2025) for Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity.
