Anna Iorio

Anna Iorio is a Data Protection Advisor in Bird & Bird's Privacy Solutions team in London. She is a qualified lawyer in Italy and holds a master's degree in law with a focus on EU Laws and Regulations from LUISS University in Rome. Her primary practice area is Data Protection Law.

She is an experienced privacy and data protection lawyer, supporting international clients across sectors including financial services, life sciences, technology, manufacturing, and fashion and luxury, with data protection and ePrivacy compliance challenges. Her practice also encompasses the data protection implications of cutting-edge technologies, including AI systems and their applications.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, she practised in both data protection and intellectual property law, acting as an external DPO, advising on regulatory compliance and representing clients before supervisory authorities, as well as advising international clients on contentious and non-contentious IP matters relating to trademarks, patents, copyright and designs.

She has been a longstanding member of a joint working group involving leading law firms and major corporates focused on data protection and security. She has authored numerous publications on data protection, technology and intellectual property law and has spoken at various conferences and working groups on these topics.
