Oscar van der Laan

Oscar van der Laan is an Associate at Dentons in London, practicing in the Banking and Finance Law group within the Corporate Lending and Real Estate Finance team. He acts for lenders, sponsors, and corporate borrowers on a wide range of debt financing transactions, with a focus on real estate finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, and general corporate lending.

Oscar is experienced in both bilateral and syndicated financing, working on domestic and multi‑jurisdictional transactions. He qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2021 and worked for the Dentons Auckland office before joining the London office in 2024.

He holds an LL.B and a B.Com in Economics from the University of Otago (2020) and completed his Professional Skills Course at the College of Law, New Zealand (2021).
