Nicholas Plant

Nicholas Plant is a Partner in Dentons' London office and co-leader of the firm's global Private Equity practice, specialising in Mergers and Acquisitions. With more than 20 years of experience, he advises on both domestic and cross-border leveraged buyouts and has led over £10 billion of LBOs in the last five years.

Nicholas has worked extensively for leading private equity houses including Blackstone, Apax, CVC Capital Partners, Centerbridge, Graphite Capital and Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners. Notable transactions include representing two private equity consortiums on the £1.1 billion acquisition of Imperial Brands' premium hand-rolled cigar business (including the Cohiba, Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta brands), advising Blackstone on multiple acquisitions including Armacell and Solvay's Acetow business, and representing Stonepeak Infrastructure on the acquisition of euNetworks.

Nicholas holds an M.A. from American University in Washington DC (1993) and a B.A. from the University of Southampton (1992).

He is ranked as a Band 1 leading individual for Private Equity by The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, and is recognised as a "Highly Regarded" lawyer by IFLR1000. He is also listed in The Lawyer's Africa Elite as one of the 10 leading international lawyers advising on African private equity.
