Matt Davies

Matt Davies is an Associate in the Corporate Crime practice at Dentons, sitting within the wider Global Regulatory and Investigations group, specializing in Dispute Resolution. He represents both individuals and corporates, including senior executives and high‑net‑worth clients, facing complex risks arising from criminal and regulatory matters domestically and internationally.

Matt has expertise in a range of business crime offences, including bribery and corruption, insider dealing, fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, and Companies House offences. He has worked on Code of Practice 9 investigations achieving no further outcomes for corporate clients, and has acted on matters resulting in out‑of‑court disposals including Deferred Prosecution Agreements (DPAs), private warnings, and No Further Actions. Notable matters include acting for a defendant in the SFO's London Mining prosecution concerning bribery of public officials in West Africa (client acquitted); advising a large international company in a Code of Practice 9 investigation that was discontinued; advising on the negotiation and conclusion of two Deferred Prosecution Agreements; and advising high‑net‑worth individuals in NCA and FCA investigations into fraud, money laundering, and insider dealing.

Matt holds an LL.B (Hons) in Law with Study Abroad from the University of Bristol (2016) and an MSc in Law, Business and Management from the University of Law (2019). He qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2021. He previously worked at BCL Solicitors and RPC, and as a paralegal at the Financial Conduct Authority.
