Linzi Hedalen

Linzi Hedalen is a Partner in Dentons' Projects practice in Edinburgh, specializing in construction and engineering dispute resolution.

She has extensive experience advising UK and international clients on multi-million-pound construction and engineering disputes across infrastructure (buildings, hotels, shopping centres, housing developments), energy (oil and gas decommissioning), renewables (offshore and onshore windfarms), and transport (roads and ports). She also advises PPP and PFI clients on issues throughout the facilities management term and the end of the defects liability period. Her practice covers all major UK standard form contracts as well as bespoke agreements, and she has experience in court actions, mediation, adjudication and international arbitration. Notable matters include advising on a US$350 million ICC arbitration in London for a US$1.5 billion mixed-use development, representing a national contractor in multiple adjudications, and acting for an international organisation in court proceedings arising from defective works at a landmark Scottish hotel. During a seven-month secondment to EDP Renewables as general counsel, she advised on commercial contracts, crossing and proximity agreements, and agreements for lease for an offshore windfarm.

Linzi holds a First Class Honours LL.B from the University of Glasgow (2008), with a year at the University at Buffalo, and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Glasgow Graduate School of Law (2009).
