Joseph Altendorff

Joseph Altendorff is a Partner in Dentons' London office, specialising in Mergers and Acquisitions. He is recognised by clients and directories as an outstanding practitioner, ranked as a leading individual for venture capital and a name to note for M&A by The Legal 500. He has led cross‑border investment and M&A teams in more than 100 jurisdictions, advising on the full spectrum of corporate growth—from raising finance and investing to acquiring, selling or partnering with strategic counterparties.

Joseph's practice spans venture capital, private equity and public and private M&A, with significant experience advising founder-led and management-owned businesses throughout their growth cycle to IPO or exit. He has worked extensively in the technology, energy, media and industrial sectors and has deep experience of cross‑cultural and international transactions, having worked in Dentons' offices in Istanbul and Dubai before returning to London, and having completed a secondment to Goldman Sachs.

Joseph holds an LL.B. from the University of Durham (2004), an LL.M. from the University of London (2006), and completed the LPC at The College of Law, London (2007).
