Carina Rodriguez

Carina Rodriguez is a Trade Mark Attorney in Bird & Bird’s Intellectual Property Department, focusing on Trademark Law. She works with clients to protect, maintain and enforce their brands and designs.

She works with clients ranging from start-ups to global brands to craft cost-effective intellectual property strategies that align with business objectives and increase value.

Her specific areas of expertise include clearing a name, brand and/or design for use in the market or for securing registered protection; advising on strategic collaborations and the licensing of IP assets; conducting IP health checks and audits; navigating trade mark disputes (including multi-jurisdictional disputes) and negotiating settlements; handling online infringements, including filing domain name complaints and social media and marketplace takedowns; and company name disputes, including filing and defending complaints with company name registers.

She currently works with clients across sectors such as retail, hospitality, fashion, technology, and food & beverage. Her passion centres on the intersection of technology and innovation, including areas such as web 3.0, NFTs, generative AI, green tech, sustainability and marketing trends.

Carina studied at Nottingham Law School (Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Practice), Queen Mary University of London (Postgraduate Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice), the University of Edinburgh (LLM) and The Hague University of Applied Sciences (LLB in International and European Law). She was admitted to The Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and the Intellectual Property Regulation Board in 2023.
