Susan Humble

Susan Humble is a Partner and Head of Regulatory at RIAA Barker Gillette (UK), specialising in Corporate Compliance. She advises regulators and the regulated on all compliance and governance aspects, providing commercial, practical assistance with compliance health checks, independent audits and support for those with regulatory difficulties.

Susan brings exceptional expertise in legal regulation acquired during her eight years as CEO and Clerk at the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT), offering unique insight into the prosecution and defence of cases before the SDT. She was previously the dispute resolution manager at Sport Resolutions (UK), running the UK's National Anti-Doping Panel for five years, and is a former Chair of the Taxation Disciplinary Board. She also serves as an independent lay panellist for the Teaching Regulation Authority and served two terms (2020–2026) as a representative of the Lord Chancellor on the Tribunal Procedure Committee. She is the firm's Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) and a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers.

Susan holds an LL.B. (Hons) (1981), completed the Law Society Finals (1982), and was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in 1984. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and is fluent in Japanese.
