Rory Coutts

Rory Coutts is an Associate in the Commercial and Data Protection groups at Bird & Bird, with a primary focus on Data Protection Law. He advises on commercial and regulatory matters in the technology and communications sector.

His practice focuses on helping clients navigate the complex landscape of digital regulation, including communications regulation, cybersecurity, interception law, online content, ePrivacy and data protection. He works extensively with digital, telecoms and media clients on international projects involving new and innovative technologies.

His work in cybersecurity is complemented by his role as a member of the Cybersecurity Committee at the Society for Computers and Law. He also has in-house perspective gained through secondments to a major video games publisher and prize draw provider.

Before joining Bird & Bird, he worked in public affairs in Brussels and London, advising technology clients on EU and UK politics and regulation.
