Ben Buray

Ben Buray is an Associate in Bird & Bird's Intellectual Property team in London. His practice focuses on Intellectual Property Law, advising clients across the full spectrum of IP rights on both contentious and non-contentious matters.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, he developed a particular specialisation in trade mark and copyright infringement litigation, acting as lead associate in High Court and IPEC proceedings and successfully resolving a number of infringement claims through settlement and mediation. He also handled complex commercial litigation involving patent rights, acting for a major UK university in a claim against a leading pharmaceutical company, where he managed a large-scale disclosure exercise, witness preparation and the drafting of trial witness statements. His experience also extends to advising on IP-adjacent matters, such as advertising copy clearance, defamation and brand reputation.

His experience covers a wide range of sectors, with a particular interest in the Retail & Consumer and Technology & Communications sectors, where many of the disputes he handles involve technology, AI and source code. He also brings valuable in-house perspective from secondments to a leading grocery retailer and a major financial services group, where he worked directly with senior brand and marketing stakeholders on IP and advertising matters. He has further experience acting for clients in the Life Sciences and Media, Entertainment and Sport sectors.
