Ayla Ahmed

Ayla Ahmed is a Consultant at RIAA Barker Gillette (UK), specialising in Mergers and Acquisitions. Her legal expertise spans contract negotiations, strategic planning, corporate and financial restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, privatisations and project finance, with a particular focus on the petroleum and natural gas, telecommunications and energy sectors.

Ayla has advised on implementation agreements, power purchase agreements, fuel supply agreements, EPC and O&M contracts, syndicated finance facilities and security documentation across oil and gas exploration, gas transmission and distribution, and telecommunications projects. She has also acted on behalf of bidders in privatisations of steel mills and petroleum marketing companies, and has advised the seller of a telecommunication company on all legal issues and regulatory frameworks in a major privatisation.

Ayla holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of London (1995), an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge (1996), and was called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln's Inn (1997). She was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2021. She is also an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan and a member of the Sindh Bar Council and the Sindh High Court Bar Association.
