Roddy Cormack

Roddy Cormack is a Counsel in Dentons' Non-Contentious Construction team, based in the Scottish Highlands. He is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Construction Law.

He has worked with construction sector clients since 1998, including time spent in‑house within a local authority. He advises employers in the infrastructure, manufacture, retail, house building and investment sectors on risk management through procurement strategies and contract terms. He has extensive experience advising on the JCT, SBCC and NEC suites of standard form contracts, as well as consultant appointments, collateral warranties, performance securities, development agreements and framework agreements. He has advised on hydropower projects in the UK and abroad, including for the Asian Development Bank on the Rogun Hydropower project, and has advised National Grid Electricity Transmission, Network Rail, Taylor Wimpey UK and Royal Mail Group. He is also a member of the International Hydropower Association working group that produced guidance on enabling new pumped storage hydropower.

Roddy holds an LL.B (Joint Hons) and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Glasgow (1997, 1998), and a Diploma in Outdoor Education from the University of Edinburgh (2004).

He is recognised by Chambers & Partners as a "Star Associate".
