Rhiannon Graves

Rhiannon Graves is an Associate in Bird & Bird’s Intellectual Property Group in London, focusing on Patent Law. She has experience in a range of intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on large-scale telecoms patent litigation.

During her career, she has worked with a wide range of clients across a range of intellectual property matters. She has a keen interest in innovative technologies, especially in the electronics and communications sectors, and particular experience in patent litigation, including large-scale patent and FRAND disputes.

Her background is in mathematics and technology; prior to converting to a career as a solicitor, she completed a Master’s degree in Mathematics and then spent several years working in the legal tech and SaaS space. Drawing on this, she brings an analytical, problem-solving approach to her practice, as well as an understanding of the software industry and an ability to distil complicated technological concepts.

She also has experience in technology transfer, having worked within the Patent & Licence Management team at Imperial Innovations, the (then) technology transfer team at Imperial College London. This role exposed her to the commercial side of IP and patent licensing, experience she finds useful when working on patent and FRAND-related matters.
