Mark Withey

Mark Withey is a Partner in the Corporate Practice at Dentons in London, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, and venture capital. He has been practising for over twenty years, including eight years based in Moscow, and advises clients on cross‑border transactions across a wide range of jurisdictions with a particular focus on the CIS and other emerging markets.

Mark has advised ForteBank on the acquisition of Home Credit Bank Kazakhstan; Korzinka, Uzbekistan's leading supermarket chain, on a US$110 million equity investment from Abu Dhabi Uzbek Investment and Omani sovereign investment funds; and on the US$137.5 million acquisition of a 49% stake in Kazakh wholesale telecommunications infrastructure services provider TNS Plus. He has also advised EuroChem Group on the US$410 million acquisition of the Serra do Salitre phosphate project in Brazil, Impress on the acquisition of Diamond Whites, and a global oil and gas downstream group on two separate disposals in West Africa. He has spent time on secondment in London with Rothschild and with what later became Nomura Code Securities.

Mark holds an LL.B from the University of Exeter (1998) and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in 1999. He was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2001.
