Eleanor Hart

Eleanor Hart is a Partner in Dentons' London office and heads up the UK pensions team, advising on a broad variety of pension matters, both transactional and general advisory, acting for trustees and corporate sponsors.

She has significant expertise in transactional and restructuring matters, including complex pension restructurings, innovative covenant and funding solutions, benefit change exercises, de-risking, and managing employer debts on employment-cessation events. She has been involved in numerous high-profile deals with complex pension aspects, including the first ever pension deficit for equity swap for Uniq. She also supports clients navigating pension issues in distressed and insolvency contexts, including investigations by the Pensions Regulator, and advises on the pension aspects of cross-border transactions.

Eleanor holds an M.A. in Jurisprudence from Oxford University (1996). She previously specialised in corporate and M&A work before becoming a pensions lawyer in 2007. She is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers, serving on the Education and Seminars Committee, and a member of the International Pensions and Employee Benefits Association.

She is recognised by Chambers UK, which describes her as "technical and practical", "commercial and knowledgeable", and by The Legal 500 as "astute, imaginative and engaged", with clients noting her ability to "explain clearly to non‑experts" and develop "a true partnership".
