David Tennant

David Tennant is Counsel in the Projects practice at Dentons, specializing in Oil and Gas Law. He has extensive experience in upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas matters, working across the UK, the Middle East, the CIS, and Africa for a range of clients including host governments, NOCs, IOCs, independent oil and gas companies, and industry regulators.

David has been involved in a broad spectrum of oil and gas transactions and regulatory matters, advising on project development, commercial agreements, and sector‑specific regulatory frameworks. His practice encompasses the full value chain of the oil and gas industry.

He holds an M.A. in Modern History (Hons) from the University of St Andrews (1984), a Diploma in Accounting from the University of Aberdeen (1985), and completed his LPC at The College of Law (1989). He qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 1991.
