Alexandra Velizarova

Alexandra Velizarova is an Associate at Dentons in London, practicing in the Projects group, specializing in Oil and Gas Law. She advises on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters across the energy sector, with particular expertise in upstream oil and gas, CCUS, LNG, and energy transition projects (including BESS, solar, and onshore wind).

Alexandra has significant experience advising international energy companies on projects in Azerbaijan, the Middle East, North Africa, and the UK. Notable matters include advising Masdar and SOCAR GREEN on the development of three renewable energy projects in Azerbaijan with an aggregate capacity of approximately 1GW; advising SOCAR on the development of non‑associated gas reservoirs in the ACG field, leading negotiations of a new production sharing agreement opposite bp; advising Mitsui on its US$148 million sale of working interests in Oman; advising Petronas on the sale of its interests in the Shah Deniz project; and advising Wintershall Dea on the sale of its interest in the Ghasha concession in Abu Dhabi. She has also advised on cross‑border CCS projects, UK solar and BESS project financings, and LNG master sale and purchase agreements.

She holds a BA (Hons) Qualifying Law Degree from Warwick University (2018) and completed her Legal Practice Course at BPP University (2021). She qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2023.

During her training contract, she completed a secondment to Cero Generation, a fast‑growing European renewable energy developer. She is a member of the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN) and its Young Negotiators group.
