Amy Cole

Amy Cole is an Associate in the Commercial team at Bird & Bird in London, and is part of the firm's International Business to Consumer Group. Her practice focuses on Consumer Protection Law.

She advises brands across a range of sectors on compliance with consumer protection legislation and regulations. This includes providing support for online marketplaces, e-commerce platforms and websites in relation to commercial contracts, terms and conditions and the consumer's online user journey.

She regularly works on international multi-jurisdictional projects where clients are expanding their business globally and need mandatory local law reviews, and often advises on the localisation of US terms for compliance with the UK and EU markets, including advising on enforceability issues.

She also supports brands with advertising and marketing campaigns, including reviewing and advising on the substantiation behind green claims and comparative advertising claims. She has experience in drafting influencer and talent agreements, IP licences, and responses to ASA complaints and investigations. She regularly advises on UK and global prize promotion and competition mechanics, as well as sales promotions and corresponding compliant pricing practices.

In addition to her business-to-consumer work, she also has experience advising on and drafting contracts for business-to-business transactions.

She is also a member of the firm's MediaWrites news hub and a content correspondent for the Marketing and Advertising sector.
