Joanna Traynor

Joanna Traynor is an Associate in the Projects Practice at Dentons in London, specialising in energy law and renewable energy projects. She has experience across a range of technologies, including onshore and offshore wind, solar, hydrogen, energy from waste, and carbon capture and storage.

Joanna has advised on the development of major international renewable energy projects, including Masdar's 770MW solar and 1GW wind projects in Azerbaijan and the 96MW solar PV project in Georgia, as well as Tajikistan's first solar project. She has also advised on hydrogen projects, including a 92.5MW electrolyzer plant, and on carbon capture and storage projects in Greece. In the UK, she has advised the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on the Xlinks project and on biomass contracts for difference, and has worked on due diligence for the sale of extensive combined heat and power, solar, and battery portfolios, as well as pumped-storage hydropower projects.

Joanna holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Glasgow (2020) and a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Glasgow (2021). She was admitted as a Solicitor in Scotland in 2023.
