Intisar Abdi

Intisar Abdi is a commercial Associate based in the London office, with a particular focus on sports, media and games matters. Her primary practice area is Sports Law.

She has broad experience advising a range of sporting entities on commercial matters, including sponsorship agreements, licensing deals, ticketing arrangements, and the drafting of rules and regulations. She also regularly assists clients with advertising and marketing regulatory matters, which are increasingly relevant for sporting entities in a sponsorship context, as well as a wide range of other contractual and commercial issues.

She advises games clients on a range of contractual and regulatory matters, including consumer protection advice regarding in-game items and virtual currencies, coordinating multi-jurisdictional advice for global compliance, game development agreements, licensing agreements, and drafting consumer-facing terms and conditions for game launches.

As a member of the Women's Sport Group, she is particularly interested in and passionate about the growth of women's sport. She is an editor of, and regular contributor to, MediaWrites, Bird & Bird's industry news hub covering media, entertainment and sport.

She champions diversity and inclusion in the workplace and is a member of the firm's multicultural network, Embrace. She previously chaired the network and remains an active member of the committee.
