Esther Rusling

Esther Rusling is a Senior Associate in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) practice, specialising in privacy and cybersecurity, based in the Milton Keynes office. She advises clients across a range of sectors, including technology, digital media, retail, transport and financial services.

She has extensive experience in privacy matters, including e-privacy and direct marketing, privacy notices, cookie policies, data protection policies, territorial application of GDPR, data subject rights, global data transfer solutions, data processor engagement and data incident responses (including liaising with regulators). She has also advised on innovative technology matters, including online behavioural advertising and social media advertising, and on international transfers in light of the Schrems II decision, updated Standard Contractual Clauses and Brexit. She also advises on complex commercial and technology contracts across IT and software agreements and e-commerce matters.

Esther holds a BSc (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh (2010), a Graduate Diploma in Law and an LPC from The College of Law (2011, 2012), and holds the CIPP/E qualification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
